Found this on the Egotist today… from a self-coined “creative logo designer” named Graham Smith. Check him out :)

I need a new hobby… something that doesn’t require sitting behind a computer monitor for hours on end. I do plenty of that already and am looking to find a different creative outlet that is more hands on and takes me out of my “creative comfort zone.” I have always had an interest in cake design,  but have never really taken the initiate to pursue it. I know having the right tools will make all the difference in the final product, so I think its time to take the plunge and pick out my first essentials set.  I was surprised by the lack of quality websites I could find about learning to decorate and where to purchase the right tips/bags and other tools… so far its looking like I should stick with the Wilton products. They have a great cake decorating 101 page, which I plan on using to guide me through the basics. Look for a future post within the next week or so with my first attempt at “fancy cake” :) If you’re reading this and have any experience with cake decorating, I would love to hear some feedback/advice on getting started. Thanks!
